Shifting Into Fall šŸ

As the season begins to shift into fall, thereā€™s a tangible change in the air that influences not just nature, but the way I approach my work at Thomas William Furniture. The vibrant colors of summer fade into rich hues of gold, amber, and deep reds, reminding me that, just like the cycles of the seasons, craftsmanship has its own rhythm. Fall is a season of gathering, of slowing down to appreciate the warmth and beauty around us.

In Wisconsin, the crisp air and changing leaves inspire me. Nature's transformation from the lush greens of summer to the fiery brilliance of autumn is echoed in the grains and textures of the wood I select. Every piece of wood has its own story, much like the way each tree prepares for the coming winter. As the leaves fall and the landscape becomes more rugged and raw, I see parallels in my work. The organic beauty of the materials I use is front and center, and thereā€™s a certain honesty in that simplicity. The transition into fall reminds me to honor that natural beauty in every piece I craft.

At Thomas William Furniture, fall is a time when I continue to work on creating pieces that add warmth to living spaces. Tables that will be a place for a good book to read, cabinets that store the memories of seasons past, and sideboards that make statement pieces in foyers as guests come to visit. Iā€™m reminded that furniture, like the seasons, is about more than just its functionā€”itā€™s about creating something lasting, something that brings people together as the days grow shorter and colder.

Much like the prairie of wildflowers outside, which has now gone from its peak color to a more muted beauty, fall calls for a different kind of attention in my work. It's a time to refine, to slow down, and to craft pieces that will be a source of comfort during the coming months of winter. The furniture I create during this season is meant to reflect the warmth that we seek in our homes, a reflection of the beauty that endures even as the world outside changes.

For me, this change of season is not just about the environmentā€”itā€™s about embracing the cycle of renewal, reflection, and creation. As fall settles in, I take inspiration from its quiet elegance, infusing that into every piece I make, knowing that each one will bring warmth and life into someoneā€™s home, just as fall brings a cozy stillness into the world around us. #thomaswilliamfurniture #fall2024 #furntiure #homedecor #handcrafted #art
